  1. What is Bulkr?

    Bulkr is a free application which allows Flickr users to easily take a backup of their photos on Flickr. Non Flickr users can also use it to search and download Creative Commons licensed photos. Bulkr was develped using Adobe Air and runs on Mac, Windows and Linux. It uses the Flickr API but is not endosed or certified by Flickr.

  2. Why should anyone be allowed to download other's photos, ever?

    Bulkr was primarily developed to take a backup of your own photos. But since there are millions of awesome Creative Commons photos on Flickr, features were added later which enables download of photos from other Flickr users. But don't worry - if your photo is copyrighted and your privacy settings does not allow photos to be downloaded, Bulkr will respect these settings. You can, however, download your own photos anytime.

  3. I'm on Flickr. Will Bulkr allow anyone to download my photos?

    Your photos cannot be downloaded by others if you reserve all rights to them and if your have disabled download in the privacy settings. However, if your photos are Creative Commons licensed, they can be downloaded regardless of the privacy settings.

  4. How do I change the privacy settings of my Flickr photos?

    Go to the 'license selection' page on Flickr here and select - None(all rights reserved). Then go to the 'Allowing downloads' page here and select Only You. After you apply these settings, your photos cannot be downloaded by anyone else but yourself. (Also see Flickr FAQ)

  5. Can I download photos from Flickr.com by using a web browser?

    Flickr discourages straightforward download of photos from the website. If you use the traditional 'Save Image As..' link to download Flickr photos, you will be given spaceball.gif (which is empty) as a gift instead :)
